Responsibilities
- Establishes warehouse operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, customer service, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Maintains current knowledge of and implements existing applicable federal and state safety and health requirements.
- Participates in and conducts training.
- Works with U.S. Customs & freight forwarders to help solve or provide information for import and export issues.
- Inspects physical condition of the warehouse and equipment and prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment; reports on and corrects problems.
- Confers with department supervisors to ensure the coordination of warehouse activities with such activities as production, sales, purchasing, planning, and accounting; works with vendors as required.
- Screens, hires and coordinates training & development of warehouse personnel and issues work assignments.
- Compiles, analyzes, and reports on various aspects of obtaining, maintaining, and distributing inventories.
- Recommends and implements a budget for the warehouse.
- Prepares or reviews requests for orders, bid tabulations, stocking reports, annual contract agreements, pre-quotation bid summaries for the department, and purchase orders.
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space, adhering to design principles and recommending improvements, including adherence to 5S standards.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Follows company policies, procedures and cooperates with auditors, as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or equivalent combination of directly related experience and education. Relative experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum five years’ experience of warehouse/distribution supervision in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively build and maintain a staff necessary to achieve a successful operation.
- Possess fundamental skills: time management, project management, communication (written/verbal) and ability to read and understand technical publications and instructions.
- Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience with import/export compliance.
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MRP experience, preferably SAP.

Pay
The base compensation for this position is between $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with skill and experience level.
