Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of products. This role supervises warehouse personnel, coordinates equipment and labor resources, schedules logistics activities, and ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages the logistics of inventory movement by scheduling all incoming loads, coordinating appropriate appointment times, and controlling stored inventory.
- Constantly evaluates storage areas and storage layout to promote maximum and efficient organization.
- Tracks inventory and ensures all dispatched load information is entered and/or checked out within the MEI ERP system accurately and within time constraints.
- Maintains inventory accuracy, manages operational documentation, drives process improvements and efficiencies, and provides operational visibility through timely reporting and communication.
- Works collaboratively with internal departments, customers, carriers, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of warehouse and logistics activities while supporting service, productivity, and cost objectives.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)
- HS diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License or ability to attain.
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
- Minimum two (2) years dispatching experience or comparable warehouse staging and or storage movement background preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in Microsoft Office applications i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Industrial Machinery Equipment Operations experience.
- Logistics experience to interface with transportation companies.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to explain technical processes to all levels of staff.
- Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations is preferred.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- This is very physical, hands-on work.
- A Warehouse Supervisor must be able to perform General Physical Activities — activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must have the ability to work off the ground at varying heights and not be affected by moving machinery or parts.
- Work may vary between indoor, climate-controlled, or normal warehouse environment and non-temperature-controlled environment and/or outdoors in all types of weather, and over uneven ground or terrain.
