Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Carlton-on-Trent, Newark (adjacent to the A1)

Reports to: Stores Manager

About the role

You will oversee the day-to-day running of our warehouse, keeping operations safe, efficient and accurate. You will manage the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of facade materials, glazing components, tools and equipment, while leading the team, maintaining stock accuracy and upholding high safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise goods-in, unloading, checking, storage, picking, packing and dispatch
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and update stock management systems accurately
• Organise safe movement and storage of materials to ensure traceability and easy retrieval
• Ensure materials are prepared and issued on time to support project and installation schedules
• Allocate daily tasks and priorities to warehouse staff
• Provide guidance, training and support to ensure safe and efficient working
• Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance, escalating issues as required
• Promote a positive, collaborative team culture aligned with company standards
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, policies and safe systems of work
• Conduct regular warehouse safety, housekeeping and equipment checks
• Oversee safe use of forklifts, pallet trucks and all lifting equipment
• Maintain clear access to aisles, exits, fire points and loading areas
• Report and assist with investigation of accidents, incidents and unsafe conditions
• Maintain accurate stock records and support cycle counts and full stock audits
• Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
• Monitor stock levels and flag replenishment requirements for consumables, PPE and supplies
• Ensure all ERP/stock systems are updated promptly and accurately
• Produce reports to support operational planning and decision-making
• Complete all required documentation, delivery records and operational reports
• Communicate shortages, delivery delays or operational concerns to the Stores Manager
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and order across all areas
• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials correctly
• Promote a clean-as-you-go culture
• Ensure all storage locations remain safe, organised and audit-ready

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role, ideally within construction, manufacturing or building materials
• Strong knowledge of goods-in, stock control, picking and dispatch processes
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements in a warehouse or construction environment
• Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate workloads effectively
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office and computerised stock management systems

Desirable Qualifications

• IOSH Working Safely / Managing Safely or equivalent qualification
• Counterbalance and/or Reach forklift licence
• Experience handling facade systems, glazing products, aluminium profiles or construction materials
• Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems

Monday–Thursday 7:30am – 4:00pm | Friday 7:30am – 3:00pm – paid for full shift
