Warehouse Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Maintain facilities at the highest standards meeting all SQF and GPN food safety requirements.
- Create, improve, manage, and expand storage process, assuring that materials are located in appropriate areas for use by shipping and production teams.
- Model Glanbia values, policies and procedures.
- Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
- Work closely with EH&S team to follow safe handling and storage of raw materials and finished goods.
- Develop solutions to plant related problems.
- Conduct audits to ensure employees are performing tasks according to standards operating procedures (SOP).
- Provide performance coaching to warehouse and shipping teams.
- Demonstrate professionalism in verbal and written communication and in behavior.
- Maintain records, files, instruction manuals, and necessary parts and supplies for all plant equipment.
- Responsible for work order disbursement and completion.
- Ensure packaging and labeling of all stored materials reflect SOP and Food Safety guidelines.
- Track expenses and oversee the budget while reducing waste and scrap rates.
- Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams on inventory issues and finance on cycle counts.
- Support R&D daily raw material req.
- Support EH&S projects and identify projects and solutions to plant operations team.
- Train staff on proper forklift operation.
- Interviewing, selecting, and training employees.
- Involved in setting rates of pay and hours of work.
- Conduct regular staff training and submit training documentation to HR or site management.
- Maintain staff productivity and equipment condition and sustainability records.
- Appraise productivity; handle employee grievances or complaints, or discipline employees.
- Determine work techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in operations management or related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in warehouse setting as lead or supervisor.
- Preferably in a food or nutraceutical company.
- Clean DMV record and ability to drive company vehicles.
- Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins and fine chemicals in powder and liquid forms as well as allergen products.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to exercise effective independent judgment by identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, maintenance management systems.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Strong SAP knowledge preferred.
