Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading all warehouse employees and operations, including shipping, receiving, finished goods, and stockroom activities, to ensure efficient material flow and on-time customer delivery. Oversee team performance, maintain inventory accuracy using ERP (Made2Manage) systems, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations across shipping, receiving, finished goods, and stockroom functions to ensure smooth and efficient material flow.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean practices, optimizing workflows, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Utilize ERP systems (Made2Manage) and reporting tools to monitor operations, maintain records, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Enforce and promote quality, safety standards and regulatory compliance by conducting audits, ensuring proper equipment use, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Plan and allocate labor resources effectively to meet operational demands and productivity goals.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Directly supervises non-exempt employees.
- Cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
- Provides leadership, communicates, and coaches to employees.
- Interviews, hires, trains, and manages employees.
- Plans, assigns, directs, and appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Manages cross training matrix and plan.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material flow within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Suite for tracking, reporting, and data management.
- Able to complete the planning of workflow and meetings.
- Ability to apply continuous improvement and lean principles to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Preferred Skills
- Forklift Train-the-Trainer certificate.
Education Requirements
- High School Degree or General Education Degree and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associates (A.S) or Bachelors (B.S.) degree in supply chain, business, or related field highly desired.
- Minimum of five (5) years of warehouse, shipping, receiving and inventory experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience managing ERP systems (e.g., Made-2-Manage).
- Minimum of two (2) years of stand-up and sit-down forklift experience.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent use of hands for handling equipment, and operating forklifts and vehicles.
- Ability to perform similar operations and tasks for 6-8 hours.
- Ability to sit and stand for 6 to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to bend and reach for 6 to 8 hours.
Working Conditions
- Work performed indoors in a temperature controlled environment frequently and outdoors with temperature variations occasionally.
