About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and directs warehouse operations in retail stores, supervising warehouse specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators. They also support the Receiving Supervisor in managing the daily freight schedule.
Responsibilities
- Daily scheduling of warehouse personnel for productive and cost-efficient operations
- Directing day-to-day warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
- Maintaining storage buy transactions, handling receiving errors, and staging products
- Maintaining warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance and reporting necessary repairs
- Ensuring a safe and clean workplace for employees and compliance with OSHA regulations
- Training and enforcing adherence to standard operating procedures
- Handling employee inquiries, providing counseling, and resolving discrepancies in shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
- Executing Storage Buy Audit COP, ensuring proper inventory staging and storage
- Completing activity reports for management and monitoring workflow from receiving to inventory control
- Coordinating with other departments to enhance warehouse operations
Requirements
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, delegating, and follow-up skills
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Competent in basic mathematical calculations and computer skills (Windows-based systems)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Availability to work extended hours during peak seasons
