About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Warehouse Team and reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager. Their primary responsibility is to ensure efficient and safe warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Aid in safety and warehouse processes training
- Maintain a safe and clean warehouse (including building and equipment maintenance following safety regulations; trash cleanup, facility repairs or equipment repair)
- Manage the workflow for major warehouse tasks (receiving, shipping, maintenance and quality control)
- Manage team members and create schedules
- Resolve problems related to daily operations in receiving, shipping, maintenance and quality control
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Identify productivity areas to measure and assist in generating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Director of Warehouse Operations and Warehouse Manager
- Interpret KPIs and guide the team towards achieving set goals
- Schedule all incoming shipments (domestic and overseas) and update relevant programs
- Create and schedule shipments of defective or damaged items back to vendors
- Conduct equipment operator training
- Order warehouse supplies and equipment
- Schedule warehouse equipment maintenance
- Process claims for defective or damaged products
- Communicate via email with other distribution centers, vendors, or manufacturers
- Oversee the performance management of warehouse staff
- Assist in physical labor when needed
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Warehouse Lead experience
- Highly motivated performer with strong leadership skills
- Versatile and agile with solid computer skills
- Familiarity with relevant programs and processes
- High school degree or equivalent
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines
