Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

The primary objective of this role is to supervise the overall warehouse operations and daily activities of staff. Oversees receiving and stowing, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation. Optimizes efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space. Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. Utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance. Implement strong safety policies and procedures. Supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving and dispatching procedures for shipments.
• Assigns workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Associates.
• Communicating with customers to answer shipping and receiving questions and troubleshoot problems.
• Maintaining inventory and storage areas.
• Monitoring Warehouse Associates to ensure safety procedures are being followed when operating forklifts and other machinery.
• Overseeing the warehouse operations team to ensure shipments and receipts are timely and accurate.
• Overseeing the training and development of warehouse employees.
• Ensuring that the warehouse team is following all safety rules and regulations.
• Minimizing the loss of inventory due to poor practices on the organization's part by ensuring that cycle counts are completed as required.
• Working with BNA Supply Chain Manager to ensure that inventories are accurate.
• Reviewing current processes and adjusting based on best practices.
• Implementing process improvement in this role.
• Aiding the Supply Chain Manager and plant management with measurement and documentation of BNA KPI’s; establishing and completing as required (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
• Reporting findings of cycle count results to plant management and BNA Supply Chain Manager.
• Ensuring proper product flow to make sure that all inbound receipts and outbound shipments are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that there is no production downtime due to warehouse inability to provide materials.
• Collaborating with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of equivalent experience in Warehouse Management required.
• Experience: 6-10 years of experience in related area required in food manufacturing preferred. 2-4 years Supply Chain experience, 1-3 years of Supervisory experience.
