Warehouse Supervisor

Primary Duties

  • Ensure the smooth operation of warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, staging, and distributing materials to support production and shipping activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff involved in material handling, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Hire, train, and coach team members while enforcing company policies and safety procedures.
  • Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely and accurate material flow to the production floor.
  • Monitor and approve employee work hours and attendance records.
  • Evaluate warehouse layout and inventory organization to optimize space and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee the sorting, labeling, and staging of materials and products.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accuracy.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored in designated bin locations.
  • Verify completion of forklift safety inspections and enforce safe equipment operation.
  • Manage salvage and return processes for damaged or non-conforming materials.

Job Requirements

  • Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of warehouse or storeroom experience. AAON Forklift Certification required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Strong leadership and team supervision skills, effective verbal and written communication abilities, excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities, ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems, and safety protocols, proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.

Essential Mental And Physical Functions

  • Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Frequent interaction with warehouse staff and production teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours.
  • Occasional climbing and stooping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Work Environment

  • Seasonal hot and cold temperatures.
  • Dust, humidity, and occasional chemical fumes.
  • Forklift traffic and industrial equipment.
  • Noise and physical activity typical of a production facility.
