Warehouse Supervisor - 8:00am to 5:00pm M-F

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor position is available at Würth Baer Supply Company's distribution branch in Pennsauken, NJ. This role oversees the daily operations of a highly effective distribution warehouse, managing tasks such as receiving, stocking, picking, packing, loading/unloading, and fulfilling orders. The role involves working with large orders of plywood, laminate sheets, glue, and other miscellaneous products, using a sit-down propane forklift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing outbound orders, loading/unloading trucks, containers, flatbeds, and railcars.
• Fulfill/pick large orders of plywood with dimensions such as 4'x8', 4'x10', 5' x 10', and 5' x 12'. Must be able to handle these materials weighing up to 90 lbs.
• Sit-down propane forklift experience is essential. Must be proficient in operating this type of forklift.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain all company delivery trucks in compliance.
• Follow and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily warehouse operations.
• Utilize SAP for inventory management, tracking, and warehouse operations.
• Weekly benchmarking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Effective communication with sales representatives and customer service teams to address and resolve customer inquiries.
• Assist with customer will-call order pickups as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.
• Use performance metrics and reports to monitor, measure, and improve warehouse efficiency.
• Plan daily workloads to ensure all customer orders received by 3:00 PM are 100% shipped the same day or per customer delivery schedules.
• Minimize picking and shipping errors while aiming for a "zero defects" policy.
• Foster a customer-focused warehouse environment with high service standards.
• Inventory management: Ensure 98% or greater inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and tracking.
• Implement and maintain warehouse safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and HAZMAT regulations.
• Provide employee training for forklift operation, hazardous materials handling, and warehouse safety protocols.
• Ensure proper routing of company trucks to meet delivery schedules efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Process outbound orders in LTL shipping area - verify quantities and item condition before loading onto carrier tractor trailers.
• Process inbound delivery receipts - indicate products on receipt match products delivered, noting damages or quantity discrepancies as needed.
• Assist customers with loading their order onto their vehicles.
• Assist with general warehouse responsibilities (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping).
• Other tasks assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of warehouse supervisory experience.
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to operate a forklift and successfully pass Würth Baer Supply’s forklift certification program.
• Ability to complete and train others on Hazardous Material Certification as required by CFR 49, Sections 100-185. Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire, with recurring training every 3 years.
