Warehouse Supervisor (10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Shift)

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor contributes to the efficient operation by providing direct supervision to warehouse workers at the Branch Office. The position involves performing overall supervision work in the warehouse and executing a variety of tasks including staging, loading, unloading, stock, and receiving.

Responsibilities

• Fills in for Logistic Manager/Assistant Logistics Manager as necessary.
• Serve as the most experienced/skilled warehouse worker and supervise warehouse workers/drivers.
• Assign workers to accurately assemble all customers' orders and ship within a specified timeframe.
• Assign workers to receive, count, stock, replenish, and manage merchandise.
• Coordinate the loading and dispatching of all routes.
• Contact sales personnel and/or customers for any delivery schedule adjustments.
• Communicate with inbound and outbound freight companies including common carriers.
• Affirm operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of merchandise, and keeping accurate warehouse inventory.

Requirements

• Proven record of effective management.
• AA degree or equivalent years of distribution management experience.
• Strong leader with solid and proven hands-on supervisory/management skills.
• Experience in warehousing or supervising hourly production/warehouse employees and processes.
• Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack training and certificate.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints.
• Knowledge of warehouse environment principles, business and management principles, DOT, OSHA rules and regulations.
• Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
• Ability to apply general rules and policy to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
