Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff involved in loading operations.
- Schedule and coordinate shifts to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee picking, storage, and security of products at all locations.
- Monitor picking, staging, and put away processes.
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
- Reconcile reports and exceptions daily.
- Resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor paperwork flow for timely data entry.
- Report damaged or incorrectly shipped merchandise to the proper department.
- Verify and process all paperwork related to picking and staging activities, including manifests, load sheets, and bills of lading.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Communicate openly with other departments, such as production, quality control, and transportation, to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide regular updates to the Warehouse Leadership on 2nd shift activities and any issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, particularly loading / unloading shipping procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout the warehouse.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, if necessary.
Working Conditions
Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
