Warehouse Storekeeper

Job Summary

Position is responsible for receiving, storing, ordering, and issuing supplies and equipment. The role assists with the daily operation of supply services, including distributing supplies and equipment for the school division, and acts as the Supply and Logistics Supervisor in the employee’s absence.

Essential Duties

• Acts as Supply and Logistics Supervisor in the supervisor’s absence.
• Assists with pulls, delivers textbook orders, and assists with textbook inventory via the Tipweb software.
• Prepares and lists auctions on surplus equipment.
• Receives, stores, orders, and issues surplus, textbook, and furniture inventory.
• Coordinates with the warehouse to ensure correct pickup, delivery, and transfer of warehouse inventory, textbooks, and surplus items.
• Loads and unloads materials, supplies, furniture, mail, and other items onto/off delivery vehicles, pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Accepts deliveries from vendors, inspects materials against specifications, and verifies shipments against packing slips.
• Fills warehouse requests for furniture, textbooks, flags, or any other stocked items or supplies.
• Takes annual and special inventories as directed by the Supply & Logistics Supervisor.
• Uses computer systems to track current inventories and work requests, generating accurate reports as required by management.
• Checks new equipment and materials against specifications.
• Answers inquiries from school employees and officials on supplies in stock.
• Performs housekeeping responsibilities in the warehouse such as sweeping work areas, minor furniture repair, and bundling/disposing of scrap material.
• Maintains a valid commercial driver’s license.
• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or GED.
• Several years of warehouse/supply experience and training.
• Technologically proficient for maintaining automated records and reports.
• Thorough knowledge of modern supply room and warehouse techniques and principles.
• Ability to accurately operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet drivers, and hand carts.
• Valid Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
• Air Brake endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
