Warehouse Specialist Team Lead

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA).

About the Role

The Warehouse Specialist Team Lead performs a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. In addition to essential responsibilities, the Lead provides daily work assignments to other storage personnel (e.g., Shipping/Receiving clerks, Material handlers, Forklift operators, Shipper packers, stock clerks) and ensures the efficient flow of materials and processes associated with warehouse functions. The Lead is a working employee responsible for directing and approving the work of others but does not assume supervisory prerogatives such as establishing work standards or administering hiring, firing, or discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehousing duties, including rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining for deterioration or damage, and preparing materials for shipment.
• Operate hand or power trucks as needed for warehousing tasks.
• Verify materials against receiving documents, report discrepancies or damages, and route materials to prescribed storage locations.
• Store, stack, or palletize materials according to prescribed methods.
• Make detailed work allocations as instructed by the supervisor or customer maintenance representative.
• Provide accurate information to employees working under your direction, interpret information, answer questions, review and inspect work, and resolve ordinary difficulties.
• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Six to twelve months of job-related experience and/or training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
• Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance, if required.
• Position may require travel.

Work Environment

• Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards.
• Frequent lifting of 20–60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking.
• Routine sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication.
• Constant mental alertness, planning/organizing skills, and ability to work under deadlines.

Other Responsibilities

• Safety: Participate in maintaining a safe work environment, complete all training requirements, and engage in emergency response tasks or safety committees.
• Quality: Adhere to Amentum’s Quality Policy, ensuring services meet customer expectations and comply with applicable quality system documents and contracts.
• Procedure Compliance: Read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements for your role.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $23.73. The compensation range is a good-faith estimate and may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws. In addition to the base rate, you may be eligible for a health and welfare payment under the SCA to ensure compliance with minimums set by the act.
