Summary
The Warehouse Specialist at Erie Materials is responsible for the distribution of building materials products (primarily roofing and siding products) to residential and commercial builders and contractors. Essential duties include safely operating company equipment, communicating with customers, reading work orders/invoices, lifting and carrying materials, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely operate company equipment to transport and pick up building materials product at designated warehouse locations.
- Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatchers, management, and other employees.
- Read work orders/invoices to determine product needs for customer pick-up or delivery.
- Frequently lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Operate a forklift to load a customer's vehicle, load an Erie Materials delivery truck, unload a vendor truck, move product in stock, etc.
- Clean warehouse area(s) including organization of materials, sweeping warehouse floors and parking lot areas, emptying trash cans, etc.
- Perform additional responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials product is preferred.
- Forklift and/or Moffett experience are preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Strong basic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
