THE POSITION
Acts as trainer and resource for Service Specialist staff, supporting Dispatcher role as needed. Responsible for delivering and picking up patient supplies and equipment to/from their homes in accordance with all policies and procedures.
Equipment Processing/Biomed Activities
- Cleans, tests, and performs minor repairs & maintenance on equipment and related accessories per company policy and manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Recommends improvements and/or procedural changes to the Biomedical Supervisor.
- Interacts with internal and external customers to provide assistance with equipment needs.
- Opens low level equipment and performs repairs while meeting electronic and healthcare industry standards.
- Completes equipment processing administrative tasks such as data entry and paperwork.
Service Specialist/Delivery Activities
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the patients, families and caregivers as well as all PHS employees.
- Manages time efficiently and be competent in estimating drive times.
- Aids Support Services department as needed which may include delivering equipment to patients from time to time in certain locations.
- Interacts with customers/clients, as necessary.
- Schedules and makes deliveries to patients’ homes in a timely manner.
- Confirms delivery and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Performs and instructs the initial set-up of oxygen and some DME.
- Performs data entry functions to log customer visits, conversations and follow-ups.
- Captures and coordinates regular maintenance service to company vehicles.
Warehouse Activities
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method of shipment based on time constraints and customers’ special needs.
- Selects preassembled containers or assembles cardboard containers.
- Picks correct products per order and prepares packages for shipping.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments for damage and reports to purchasing if needed.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Aids clinicians with locating and preparing equipment and supply needs.
- Completes necessary warehouse-related paperwork.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Orients and trains company staff to warehouse as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Durable medical equipment (DME) experience preferred.
- Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills.
- A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required.
- Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to use navigation system and follow maps.
- Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
