About the role
The Order Checker ensures the accuracy of all customer orders leaving the warehouse by inspecting and verifying completed orders, documenting discrepancies, and correcting them before loading. This position may also inspect returning route delivery trucks, document discrepancies, and update records before finalizing the check-in process.
Responsibilities
- Verifies customer orders by inspecting built pallets for stability and security, and reviewing pick tickets for correct product type and quantity; communicates mistakes to warehouse teammates for correction.
- Inspects returning route delivery trucks for proper condition and performs blind counts to compare reported quantities; communicates issues to drivers and updates final load-in records.
- Documents discrepancies (miss-picks, pallet types, out-of-stocks, etc.) on load bay diagrams or pick tickets and relays information to appropriate personnel.
- Accounts for all returned product and deposit items, classifying them correctly (e.g., out-of-date, damaged, good items, pallets).
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area; performs additional tasks such as pallet building as requested by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Up to 12 months of relevant work experience.
- Attention to detail and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while walking and repetitively lifting up to 30 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and adapt to changing work areas throughout the day.
- Ability to read and interpret computer-screen instructions and differentiate packages.
- Comfort working in a noisy, non-climate-controlled warehouse (hot in summer, cold in winter).
- Self-starter who takes initiative and seeks value-add opportunities.
- Flexibility to adjust schedules/hours based on business demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification.
- Pallet jack experience.
Pay
$17.17 – $18.00 per hour
