About The Role As a Warehouse Operator at Wheatland Tube at Zekelman Industries, Rochelle, IL, this role supports warehouse and distribution operations by picking, packing, and loading steel tube and pipe in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. Under direct supervision, this position operates standard warehouse equipment to ensure efficient material handling while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and quality. What You’ll Do Champion and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirementsPrepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipmentProcess and fulfill orders for customers and internal teamsPick, pack, and stage orders while verifying accuracy using scanning toolsLoad shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriersReceive, inspect, and process incoming materials, reporting damages as requiredReplenish warehouse stock and rotate inventory using reach trucks or forkliftsOperate forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficientlyStandardize and optimize shipping and receiving procedures to improve accuracy and efficiencyPerform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operationsMaintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance Who You Are Warehouse experience preferred, including experience in steel, tubing, or similar industrial environmentsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training preferredMinimum of 2 years of warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to perform basic math for accurate order processingStrong communication skills to support collaboration with cross-functional teamsProblem-solving skills to address day-to-day warehouse challengesHigh attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and adherence to quality standards Physical Abilities Perform work in a warehouse or manufacturing environmentLift, carry, push, and pull materials as requiredStand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periodsOperate material-handling equipment safely and efficientlyMeet additional physical requirements as needed for the role What You’ll Get Wheatland Tube at Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
