Warehouse Operator - Entry Level (Urgent Need)

Location: El Paso, TX | Duration: 12 months | Hours: 40/week | Pay: $16–20/hr

Client: Medical Device Company | Employment Type: Contract on W2 (US Citizens or GC Holders only)

About the role

This position is responsible for the retrieval and control of Raw Material for the daily line functions in manufacturing, daily cleaning of kitting areas including removal of cardboard and trash, and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Pull raw material from the warehouse for manufacturing.
• Empty large trash and cardboard bins.
• Sweep floors to maintain proper housekeeping requirements.
• Pull pallets to lines from staging area.
• Attend training sessions as directed.
• Help train production operators as directed.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a manual pallet jack to move inventory throughout the kitting processes.
• High school education or equivalent.
• One or more years of warehouse and manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor, management, and other employees.
• Ability to complete basic math calculations and convert English units of measure to metric.
• Ability to apply common sense when carrying out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Ability to be a self-starter with the initiative to perform job responsibilities without direct supervision.
• Accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail are essential.

Physical Demands

• Often required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
• Lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds.
• Required to meet with other personnel in other areas of the building.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
• Required to operate all types of material handling equipment.

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to moderate to occasionally loud noise.
• Works near moving equipment.
• Manufacturing warehouse environment.
