About the role
Supports CF Rail Services team. CF Rail Services is a leading railcar repair and maintenance provider.
Responsibilities
- Learn and adhere to all CFRS safety procedures.
- Learn the basic flow and logistics of railroad industry and repair business.
- Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Follow written and verbal directions.
- Have basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Identify parts required and kit as necessary for delivery.
- Organize and disperse material to work areas.
- Unload or load materials at designated area.
- Stack and sort material at work area.
- Perform general cleaning material storage areas.
- Operate various hand and power tools.
- Administer and ensure quality and safety procedures are being adhered to.
- Maintain an adequate quantity of all necessary material and supplies.
- Perform site physical inventories, counts, and variances.
- Lead the overall daily operation of the warehouse department.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite, and Oracle.
- Basic understanding of QA manual.
- Participate in training.
- Valid drivers' license with acceptable driving record.

- Reasoning skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work assignments involve standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, crawling, and crouching in strained and awkward positions for prolonged periods of time at various heights up to 20 feet.
- Uses hands, legs, and arms to climb vertical ladders to staging or suspended platforms.
- Lifts, carries, and sets up equipment and components that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- May be required to work overtime and/or varied shifts.
