About the role

The Warehouse Material Handler II is trusted to train new teammates and ensure they are properly trained, including computer-based training and on-the-job training. Consistently understands and successfully demonstrates Coke Consolidated build strategies, product quality expectations, and safety protocols. In addition to training responsibilities, these individuals perform general Warehouse Material Handler duties.

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for fulfilling customer orders by retrieving and stacking specific products and quantities as specified on pick tickets or computer screens. This involves traveling throughout the warehouse’s pick area to build stable pallets of product while meeting or exceeding safety, accuracy, and efficiency expectations.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves and places quantities of cases of product onto a pre-determined pallet as instructed by the assigned pick ticket, ensuring safe and stable pallet construction while meeting warehouse and company expectations for safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Attends instructor-led training and assists in new hire onboarding, including role-specific and computer-based training.
• Provides feedback and updates on the training process to managers or supervisors and recommends additional training time if needed.
• Travels to and transports pallets of stacked product to different areas of the warehouse using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) – Pallet Jack – in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assists in warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping as assigned or needed.
• Performs daily PIT checklist and alerts warehouse management of any issues discovered.
• Corrects any mistakes in product or quantity as identified by the checker.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient warehouse operations in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
• Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.
• Ability to adapt to different work areas throughout the workday and meet minimum expectations in each.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.
• Attention to detail and ability to differentiate packages.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and proactively seeks value-add opportunities.
• Flexibility with schedules and hours as business demands change.

Qualifications

• Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience.
• PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack.

Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
