About the Role

The Manager, DC Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the Arhaus Boston Heights, OH Distribution Center. This includes managing Warehouse Equipment Operators, Unloaders, and Associates. The role focuses on improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective strategies, while maintaining oversight of payroll, expenses, reports, policies, and records. The manager is also responsible for staff planning, performance management, training, and equipment certification.

Responsibilities

  • Meet KPIs and customer service level targets based on daily/monthly forecasts.
  • Create and execute shift plans, coordinating with other areas to support business goals.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Understand department processes and functions; implement changes for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal partners (Sourcing, Buying, Inventory, Transportation, etc.).
  • Implement business plans by managing staffing, scheduling, and workloads to achieve facility goals.
  • Address associate and supplier concerns, recommending corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop teams, including setting performance objectives, conducting reviews, and providing training and coaching.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor operations performance through KPIs by analyzing business reports.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other standards.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Monitor and execute action plans to meet and exceed customer and business needs, minimizing returns.
  • Process Improvement: Implement and monitor efficient processes for performance and productivity.
  • Communication: Express ideas clearly and effectively in speaking and writing; ensure information is understood by all parties; share information timely.
  • Problem Solving: Generate creative solutions to problems and opportunities; make sound decisions after reviewing relevant information; anticipate potential issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience.
  • Experience with project management and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in intermediate Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to improve processes using lean concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-collaboratively with other departments.
  • Strong coaching, development, and leadership skills for multiple teams within the Distribution Center.
