Warehouse Manager — Temple, TX

Kristen Distributing is a family-owned beverage distributor serving the Bryan/College Station area and Central Texas, in business since 1930. We're hiring a Warehouse Manager to lead daily operations at our Temple location — a hands-on, working manager role with real ownership, a capable team counting on you, and a schedule that respects your life outside of work.

About the role

This is a hands-on, working manager role — not a desk job. You'll lead from the floor: picking and loading alongside your team when the day demands it, operating equipment, and staying in the flow of the work rather than watching it from an office. You'll run the warehouse — the people, the product, the process, and the daily driver reconciliation — in a clean, temperature-controlled facility with no sweltering summers or freezing winters on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Daily warehouse operations — receiving, picking, staging, loading, and order fulfillment, executed accurately and on time
• Hands-on execution — working the floor alongside your team during peak periods, staffing gaps, and crunch times; you set the pace by example
• Team leadership — hiring, training, and developing warehouse staff; managing schedules, performance, coaching, and accountability
• Daily driver check-in and reconciliation — verifying product returns, confirming collected payments, and making accurate, timely deposits via remote deposit capture
• Inventory control — cycle counts, product rotation, and resolving discrepancies alongside accounting and operations
• Safety and compliance — OSHA and DOT standards, safety audits, and equipment inspections across the floor
• Forklift certification and training programs — ensuring only certified employees operate equipment
• Fleet support — including responding to vehicle incidents when other managers are unavailable
• Cross-team coordination — partnering with delivery, sales, and administrative staff to keep the whole operation moving

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, including 2+ years leading a team
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, DOT regulations, and fleet safety practices
• Comfort with computers, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and ERP/inventory software — and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
• Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain it, plus the ability to train others on equipment
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings or late evenings as operations require
• Physically able to perform the work: repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and moving throughout a full shift, and safely operating a forklift and pallet jack in an active warehouse

Preferred Qualifications

• Beverage distribution or similar fast-paced, high-volume warehouse experience
• Associate or bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field
