Warehouse Manager

About the role

The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily functions of the shipping department, including managing personnel, coordinating inbound and outbound orders, and ensuring all company standards and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain budgetary guidelines for the Shipping Department and warehouse personnel
• Hold regular meetings with all departments to evaluate performance and discuss ideas
• Create a level of acceptable performance for personnel and mentor them to exceed expectations
• Work closely with Commodity Management, PTC Logistics, and Client Services to coordinate orders
• Schedule and train personnel for daily product movements
• Coordinate loads, fulfill orders, and review ship lists and receiving lists
• Communicate with Fresh Food Production Supervisor regarding deliveries and shipments
• Ensure accurate inventory management and maintain BOLs, receiving tickets, and driver check-in/out sheets
• Oversee forklift operators and dock workers, and ensure facility cleanliness
• Follow GMPs, OSHA standards, and company policies
• Guide warehouse staff towards achieving sales order fulfillment
• Execute efficient staff schedules to cover outbound, inbound, and inventory management

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in compliance and/or safety training
• Knowledge of DOT state and federal requirements, policies, and procedures
• Ability to learn and understand transportation software systems
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and industry-specific software
• Demonstrated leadership and management abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
• Preferred but not necessary: Knowledge of Spanish language
