Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee Warehouse Operations including Receiving, Operations Support, Quality/Inventory Control, Sanitation, Ripening and support of Shipping.
- Manage employee performance, hiring and corrective counseling with support from Operations.
- Maintain and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve operational performance objectives.
- Monitor all activities during the day to ensure the smooth operation of the Warehouse teams.
- Ensure proper slot replenishment following the first in, first out procedure.
- Daily schedule warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing for productive and cost-efficient product receipt.
- Direct day-to-day warehouse activities such as receiving, forklift movement, inventory/quality control, and sanitation.
- Communicate inventory status to pickers, address receiving and picking errors, and manage warehouse slotting of products.
- Generate warehouse productivity reports, including piece count reports, and account for all labor hours.
- Adhere to labor distribution requirements and work towards achieving objectives and division goals.
- Support warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is safe and efficient for distribution functions.
- Recommend equipment requirements and replacements to the Operations Manager to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
- Support Food Safety Initiatives including managing the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System, PrimusGFS, and Organic Certification requirements.
- Support Warehouse Safety Initiatives.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; five (5) or more years’ experience in material management type operations.
- Minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role.
- Self-starter, strategic, and independent thinker with excellent business acumen.
- Excellent time management and capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
- Able to adapt and flexibly respond to changing requirements from internal and external conditions.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage change and facilitate the implementation of new food safety programs.
- Strong and well-organized communicator, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual Spanish/English, a plus.
