Warehouse Management and Inventory Management Specialist (MDIMS).
About the role
The Warehouse Management and Inventory Management Specialist (MDIMS) at Orion Innovation is responsible for deep knowledge of warehouse management and fulfillment systems, inventory management systems, and their integration with external systems. The role involves analyzing impacts across multiple applications, validating data, and managing testing sessions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze upstream/downstream impacts across ~30 integrated USPS applications and external systems
- Validate API behavior, request/response structures, and integration rules
- Decompose complex processes into clear business logic, workflows, and testable requirements
- Create process documentation, user guides, SOPs, and support workflows
- Lead discussions across multiple groups and ensure clarity of requirements and consistent communication
- Manage UAT and CAT testing sessions, including scenario development, user coordination, and tracking defects
- Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
- Train/mentor less experienced personnel
Requirements
- Minimum of 13 years’ relevant experience
- A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (preferred)
- Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs or mission critical aspects of a given program
- Able to obtain Postal clearance
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
Strong background in Agile/Scrum environments, hands-on experience with project/work management tools, understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), and strong facilitation skills are required. Must have strong SQL skills, familiarity with Apache Kafka, and working knowledge of Oracle Forms and databases.
