Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Coordinate with external service providers for major repairs when required.
- Maintain maintenance records and equipment service schedules.
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot forklift batteries and charging systems.
- Monitor battery watering, charging cycles, and overall battery health.
- Ensure battery room safety procedures are followed and maintained.
- Perform routine inspections of battery chargers and related electrical equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair warehouse dock doors, dock levelers, seals, shelters, and restraints.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
- Coordinate vendor repairs for specialized equipment when necessary.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance and operational reliability.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify safety concerns.
- Participate in workplace safety programs and training.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and equipment standards.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Experience servicing forklifts and industrial batteries.
- Knowledge of dock doors, dock levelers, and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred
- Forklift Technician certification or related trade certification.
- Experience with electric forklifts and battery management systems.
- Knowledge of PM (Preventative Maintenance) programs.
- Basic welding and fabrication experience.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
