Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair warehouse equipment, including electric forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical handling equipment (36 volt DC forklifts, 24 volt DC pallet jacks, Propane sweepers, etc.).
- Document records of maintenance, inspections and repairs in a computer system.
- Select repair parts and update parts records while completing computer data entry.
- Repair mechanical damage and replace defective parts, including welding, brazing, and soldering.
- Apply mechanical skills and knowledge to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, building construction, and other warehouse maintenance/repair situations.
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and other diagnostic aids to assist in troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication work.
- Use mechanical hand tools and measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, drill gauges, etc.) as needed.
- Lift and carry parts up to 50 pounds on a routine basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Bend, kneel, work overhead, beside, and underneath equipment or in racking as necessary.
- Work on ladders, elevated platforms, and in confined spaces as required.
- Work in various temperature conditions, including outside, in the freezer, in the heat, or in the cold.
- Work in a noisy environment, requiring ear protection.
- Work in a repair shop using materials associated with the warehouse and related equipment.
- Wear proper protective clothing and gear during work.
- Use safety harness, eye protection, and follow the lockout/tagout system as required.
Requirements
