Warehouse Loader 3rd Shift

About the role

Base pay starting at $19.00 plus $1.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and trailers in the shipping area with 100% accuracy, safety, and quality awareness.
• Ensure daily accuracy of products loaded and unloaded for inventory control and accountability.
• Scan all products loaded into trucks 100% of the time.
• Report any safety or quality concerns to Supervisor or Plant Manager immediately.
• Unload and load trucks and trailers, including windows, glass, and doors from the production floor to designated trailers by hand.
• Efficiently notate and record exceptions in count or condition of shipments to reduce delivery delays and customer satisfaction concerns.
• Manage paperwork: read and check manifests, notate errors or exclusions, count freight, and follow special loading and handling instructions.
• Communicate discrepancies in manifests, trailer load status, and situations that may cause delays.
• Ensure the number of products on the truck/trailer matches the number on the load list.
• Work with Loading Dock Leads, Shipping Coordinators, Shipping Supervisor, and Plant Manager to ensure accurate and timely trailer completion.
• Use tools such as hand trucks, Powered Industrial Vehicles, four-wheel dock carts, dock plates, wheel chalks, and banding devices.
• Clean, sweep, and maintain the dock work area and inside of trailers being loaded.

Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in loading, particularly in a window manufacturing environment preferred.
• Glass handling and/or glass knowledge preferred.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
• Daily commitment to safety and quality.
• Strong work ethic and dependability.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Demonstrates efficiency in maintaining adequate production levels to meet plant and department standards.
• Ability to take initiative to identify and anticipate problems that may lead to delays on the dock.
• Understand and implement safe, efficient freight handling and lifting procedures.
• Apply concepts to practical situations.
• Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.
• Work in, and promote, a team environment.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, grasp, stand, walk, and perform fine manipulation with fingers.
• Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking, standing, and lifting required daily.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Exposed to excessive noise, dust, fumes, or chemicals on the shop floor.
• Intermittently exposed to inclement weather.

Schedule

3rd Shift: 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM, Sunday–Thursday, with overtime as designated.
