Warehouse Lead Supply Technician - On Site Work Schedule

About the role

The Warehouse Lead Supply Technician supports the day-to-day operations of the Regional Supply Service Center (RSSC), a 12,000-square-foot facility that provides supplies and procurement services to 26 federally recognized tribes nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team to ensure products are received, stored, and distributed with utmost care and efficiency, maintaining quality standards.
  • Strategize and set objectives for the team, aligning with directives from the Logistics and Distribution Supervisor.
  • Absorb responsibilities of the Logistics and Distribution Supervisor during their absence, ensuring seamless warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making abilities, adept problem-solving skills, and effective delegation in a dynamic warehouse environment.
  • Proactively identify and resolve logistical challenges, implementing innovative solutions.
  • Cordinate multiple tasks efficiently, utilizing available resources to meet deadlines.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of creativity and problem-solving.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, upholding safety standards.
  • Control and manage reports for receiving and order processing.
  • Coordinate with customers regarding discrepancies and errors in the supply chain process.
  • Manage product recalls via the National Recall Alert Center.
  • Complete hazardous materials documents to accompany shipments.
  • Operate motorized vehicles for pickup and/or delivery of materials and supplies.
  • Proven experience in providing high levels of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Expert knowledge of safety precautions/procedures for operating vehicles, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Information

  • Knowledge of computer skills of the following programs but not limited to the ones listed: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Infor Lawson.
  • Knowledge in the logistics of Alaska and its communities for shipping, mailing, and hazmat requirements/restrictions.
  • Skills to perform any of the duties in the warehousing and distribution department of the Regional Supply Service Center.
  • Skills in being well-versed with the supply chain.
  • Skills in user maintenance of machinery used in the warehouse.
  • Skills in effective oral and written communication to direct employees and prepare reports for upper management.
  • Skills in following step-by-step instructions for various tasks.
  • Skills in working with all levels of staff.
  • Skills in scheduling and coordinating maintenance and upgrades of materials and machines.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Skills in operating motorized vehicles, equipment, and material handling equipment.
  • Effective Communication, Resource Utilization, Operational Efficiency, Safety Compliance.

Minimum Education Qualification

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum Experience Qualification

  • Non-supervisory – Four (4) years of general warehouse experience.

Minimum Certification Qualification

  • Possession of a current forklift OSHA certification or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
  • Possession of current 49CFR and IATA certifications, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of employment.

Preferred Certification Qualification

  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License.
