About the role
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the warehouse and yard. This is a hands-on position responsible for receiving, stocking, pulling and loading materials, inventory accuracy, employee performance, safety, and customer service. The Warehouse Lead is expected to lead by example and actively participate in daily warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in receiving, stocking, pulling, staging, loading, and organizing materials.
- Ensure customer orders are pulled correctly, double-checked, and ready for pickup or delivery.
- Maintain accurate inventory through regular counts, proper receiving, organization, and rotation of materials.
- Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organized, and safe, ensuring materials are stored properly and protected from damage.
- Train, schedule, coach, and hold warehouse employees accountable for productivity, performance, attendance, and safety.
- Help ensure proper company safety policies, use of PPE, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and work with vendors, drivers, Sales, Purchasing, and Customer Service to resolve issues.
- Assist customers and drivers with loading materials and provide professional customer service.
- Identify problems, take initiative, and make decisions to keep warehouse operations running efficiently.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of warehouse, distribution, building materials, or related experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and work as a team with other warehouse personnel.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and inventory accuracy.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb, and remain physically active throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and assist with loading and unloading materials.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8–10 hour shifts (flexible depending on business needs)
- Overtime as needed

- Salary: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
