WAREHOUSE LEAD I - 2ND SHIFT

About the role

A leader in planning and delegating daily work tasks to achieve departmental goals. Ensures safety, quality, and warehouse operations within the department. Trains and develops new employees, and coordinates training efforts.

Responsibilities

• Performs all areas in the Warehouse including unloading and receiving shipments, transporting product to manufacturing, preparing outbound freight shipments, and monitoring receiving and shipping traffic.
• Maintains shift's performance and efficiency, corrects or escalates issues, and recommends changes to increase efficiency.
• Trains and orients new warehouse employees, writes Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and One Point Lessons, and reviews and verifies employees' paperwork.
• Operates all warehouse machinery proficiently and safely, assigns jobs and tasks, and monitors the warehouse process.
• Closes warehouse record reports and informs inventory control personnel of any raw material discrepancies. Interprets and explains company policies, specifications, and job orders to employees.
• Communicates with other departments to provide supplies, products, and equipment necessary to meet production schedules. Truthfully and legibly completes required paperwork and reports.
• Participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives. Recommends and assists with implementing continuous improvement ideas.
• Complies with OSHA guidelines, safety policies, food safety, and cGMP guidelines. Ensures the Warehouse team follows all guidelines and policies.

Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately. Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience operating Turret trucks, Dock Stockers, Powered Pallet Jacks, Dock Plates and other raised platform vehicles required.
• Prior experience in a warehousing, manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceuticals, required.
• Knowledge of Lean principles preferred.

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to all of the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g. crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), Wheat and Soybeans, except for peanuts).
• Frequent exposure to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some classified as allergens or irritants.
• Frequent exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging.
• Frequent exposure to noise levels in the work environment that is usually moderately loud, and in some areas where louder hearing protection is required.
