The Warehouse Lead performs all duties of a warehouse associate and assumes the responsibilities of the supervisor in their absence. This role requires effective leadership, communication, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Serve as a visible leader within the Cold Crew

• Foster strong relationships with staff and promote company culture
• Act as a key liaison between warehouse staff and other departments
• Maintain high standards of warehousing practices, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and inventory accuracy

Enhance operational efficiency

• Lead, train, and mentor Warehouse Associates
• Drive performance improvements
• Support assigned associates in meeting productivity goals while addressing any violations of safety or company policies
• Proactively troubleshoot warehouse challenges, collaborating with team members to find effective solutions

Manage truck dock operations

• Coordinate trailer movements
• Oversee the flow of pallets in and out of storage areas
• Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to assign doors, direct tasks, and handle exceptions efficiently

Assume supervisory responsibilities

• Assume supervisory responsibilities as needed to ensure team accountability and operational success
• Perform Warehouse Associate duties as required by business demands

What We Are Looking For

Education Preferred: high school diploma, achieved a GED, or earned the equivalent
Experience Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, with prior leadership experience preferred.

Other Abilities You Will Need to Have

• Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with assistance
• Work in a temperature range from +50°F to -30°F with moderate noise levels
• Lift overhead when required
• May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or standing, walking, using stairs, and lifting needed to carry out everyday activities
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
• Attention to detail
• Effective communication, vision, and hearing are essential for safety and productivity
• Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other essential warehouse equipment as required
• Additional work hours may be requested by management to help manage employee production, projects, and or special events
• Operate a registered motor vehicle as part of daily tasks
• Engage in frequent personal interaction and communication
• Possess strong arithmetic and reading skills
• Follow verbal instructions, written instructions, and company policies
• Be a self-starter, able to work independently and coordinate with others
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and meeting productivity guidelines
