Warehouse Lead
About the role
The role at Nonin Medical involves coordinating and executing all domestic and international shipping activities. Key responsibilities include preparing and verifying shipping documents, coordinating carrier schedules, processing shop orders, sales orders, and receiving receipts within the ERP system, ensuring FIFO inventory practices, maintaining accurate shipping and inventory transactions, monitoring shipping performance metrics, investigating discrepancies, and supporting corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and verify shipping documents like bills of lading, SLI, commercial invoices, and other export paperwork.
- Coordinate carrier scheduling with parcel and freight providers.
- Accurately process shop orders, sales orders, and receiving receipts within ERP system.
- Ensure FIFO inventory practices during picking, packing, and shipping.
- Maintain accurate shipping and inventory transactions within ERP systems.
- Monitor shipping performance metrics including shipping accuracy, on-time shipping rates, on-time receiving rates, and kitting performance.
- Investigate discrepancies and support corrective actions.
- Serve as key user for ERP and warehouse systems.
- Troubleshoot system issues related to order fulfillment and inventory movement.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, and logistics providers to resolve shipment issues.
- Communicate shipping priorities and status across departments.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of improved procedures and standardized work instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
- Cycle count activities (data entry, reporting, and scheduling).
- Assist others in shop order control.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications required:
- 5 years warehouse experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Some work experience in the shipping industry including UPS, DHL, and freight providers (Domestic) and (International)
- General knowledge of warehouse activities (i.e. shipping, receiving, and inventory control)
- Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft AX or similar ERP systems
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of transportation logistics for both domestic and international shipments
- Experience in training and facilitating others with warehouse operations
- Experience supporting inventory accuracy and cycle counting
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and standing regularly.
- Physical dexterity for packaging and assembly tasks.
- Repetitive lifting and turning 20 pounds or more.
- Occasional lifting of 40-60 pounds.
