Warehouse Lead

About the Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead is a motivated and detail-oriented individual who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse. This position involves overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse activities, leading a team of warehouse associates, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, inspect for accuracy, and document any discrepancies. Ensure all products are in good condition and report any damages or issues.
• Safely and efficiently store products in designated areas, optimizing space utilization and maintaining a well-organized warehouse.
• Accurately pick and pack customer orders, ensuring items are properly labeled and prepared for shipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure work environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and proficiently. Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational excellence. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
• Coordinate order picking, packing, and shipping processes to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules. Monitor order accuracy and quality standards.
• Continuously assess and improve warehouse processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Implement best practices and make recommendations for process enhancements.
• Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in workflow with relevant programs and processes.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 60 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Unafraid of heights up to 30ft.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and Carrying: May need to lift and carry heavy objects or boxes weighing up to 60 pounds or more.
• Standing and Walking: Required to spend a significant amount of time on their feet, walking throughout the warehouse.
• Bending and Stooping: May need to bend, stoop, or crouch to inspect items, pick up objects, or access lower shelves.
• Repetitive Movements: Tasks such as scanning barcodes, using handheld devices, or packing items may involve repetitive use of hands and wrists.
• Climbing: May need to climb ladders or stairs to access different levels of inventory or equipment.
• Driving: Operation of forklifts or other motorized equipment may require a valid driver's license.
• Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks such as inspecting products or handling small parts.
• Physical Endurance: Long hours and physically demanding tasks require physical stamina and endurance.
• Safety Awareness: Must prioritize safety and be aware of potential hazards in the warehouse environment.
