Warehouse Lead

Non-exempt (hourly) position with supervisory responsibilities for a team of 2-4 direct reports in the Savannah warehouse.

About the role

The Warehouse Lead assists the Warehouse Manager and Supervisor in managing all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of all warehouse departments and cross-functional collaboration to ensure proper receiving and delivery of all products.

Responsibilities

• Work on the floor with teams to ensure all operations are completed properly and customer SOPs are followed.
• Focus on picking and shipping to ensure timely completion of all shipments.
• Train new warehouse associates in safety procedures, customer SOPs, and safe handling of freight.
• Communicate temporary staffing agency needs to warehouse management as needed.
• Enforce company policies and standards with associates.
• Maintain workplace safety and health regulations for associates.
• Ensure products are stored in an organized manner upon receiving using the WMS system.
• Ensure accessibility to all products stored in correct put-away locations, scanned into the WMS.
• Ensure products are stored in appropriate sections upon receiving.
• Ensure products are received, scanned correctly, and in a timely manner.
• Ensure teams follow all company workflows and systems to meet goals.
• Lead by example, exhibiting the company’s mission.
• Encourage teamwork and promote a positive working environment.
• Proactively organize work, demonstrate flexibility, and work under own initiative.
• Complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Ensure proper protocols are followed by shipping and receiving staff to prevent product damage.
• Address logistical issues and respond appropriately.
• Communicate with the order processing team regarding any shipment delays.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in operations management or related field is ideal but not required.
• Warehouse experience: 2-3 years.
• Ecommerce/Fulfillment: 1-2 years.
• 3PL Warehousing: 1-2 years.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Forklift Certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk, bend, squat, and stand for long periods of time.
• Working in extreme temperatures.
