Warehouse Inventory Manager

As part of the Contract Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in designing, managing, and optimizing solutions that keep goods moving efficiently. Whether you’re leading a team, engineering processes, or driving projects, your work ensures that our customers’ products are stored, handled, and delivered with precision. From everyday essentials to seasonal items, what we do in Contract Logistics impacts businesses and communities around the world. In this role, you will ensure physical cycle counts are performed, accurate inventory levels are maintained, account for all defective or damaged products, and provide corrective action. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the success of the inventory function and customer satisfaction
- Lead an inventory team, train and motivate staff, evaluate and guide their performance, and nurture their professional development
- Support leadership and Human Resources to ensure DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs are embraced and valued
- Identify new techniques and analytics to improve the overall planning process
- Lead the annual cost planning process ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Oversee and monitor discrepancies via cycle counts and adjustments
- Implement loss prevention programs to reduce shrinkage and minimize risk
- Build a recovery program to ensure all defective product is accounted for and handled properly
- Promote accountability and process improvement based on goals; create action plans and issue resolution tracking
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all inventory roles
- Create all necessary reports and documentation to ensure inventory accuracy
- Drive accountability and process improvement based on KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and targets, including creating action plans and issue resolution tracking
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in a distribution environment
- 5+ years in an inventory role
- 3+ years in a leadership position
- 3+ years of WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is a plus.
