About the role
Warehouse Inventory Control Clerk position in San Leandro, CA 94577. Duration: 3+ months. 1st Shift Monday through Friday, with start times between 4am and 6am.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts of physical inventory, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Update and maintain inventory records, input data into inventory management systems, and reconcile any identified discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances promptly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to maintain accurate stock levels and streamline inventory processes.
- Generate, review, and analyze inventory reports to identify patterns or issues that require attention.
- Assist in preparing for and conducting full inventory audits to verify accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Develop and suggest improvements to the inventory counting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all inventory procedures are followed, including FIFO (First In, First Out) or other company-specific inventory methods.
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure products are stored according to company guidelines.
- Report damaged or obsolete stock and coordinate with relevant teams to manage product disposition.
- Adhere to safety and health protocols while conducting inventory tasks, including the use of necessary protective equipment.
- Monitor and report any potential issues that could affect inventory levels, including supply chain or operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to food safety, quality standards, and proper documentation practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an inventory control or cycle counting role, preferably in a food production environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Weekend availability required.
- Willingness to work in a cold storage environment.
- Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
