Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire shipping process of orders that have been picked and are ready to pack.
- Assist the department supervisor with daily planning and guide staff to complete Internet shipping mandates efficiently and on time.
- Handle department demands, expectations, deadlines, administrative duties, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Ensure team members follow proper procedures, enforce safety practices, and meet productivity and quality goals.
- Train and follow up with new team members.
- Maintain excellent cross-functional and interdepartmental communication.
- Direct and oversee the Internet process of picking, sorting, packing, and processing to meet customer deadlines.
- Assist picking supervisors in navigating and prioritizing orders.
- Monitor systems and emails frequently to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Keep work areas clean and clear of safety hazards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain and promote workplace safety.
- Secure and transfer cash or other assets.
Requirements
- Accurately follow written and verbal directions.
- Maintain individual productivity and quality standards according to department requirements.
- Focus and remain on task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move objects weighing 10-50 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 100 lbs.
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and occasionally sit, climb (ladders and/or stairs), or balance.
- May be subject to environmental conditions, including protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- May be required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work well with other staff members and supervisors.
- Open availability, flexibility, and ability to work various shifts and overtime.
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred.
- Familiarity with safety measures in a warehouse.
