A wholly owned subsidiary of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply is a distribution service provider focused entirely on serving the unique needs of Chick-fil-A® restaurants. This new subsidiary is in the early stages of development and operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, launching innovative distribution services nationwide.
Responsibilities
Coordination
- Prepare staffing plans and execute adjustments to ensure operational goals are met daily; escalate to leadership when necessary.
- Plan, allocate, and coordinate all activities in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Manage movement of resources to optimize dock flow.
- Monitor order changes, revisions, or removals; plan and execute necessary adjustments in WMS/JDA systems, including assigning work for completion.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Transportation teams to fulfill urgent delivery and will-call requests.
- Align and execute the release of work to the picking queue to facilitate staging and loading in stop order.
- Assign emergency replenishment tasks to fulfill priority or transfer orders.
- Print transfer paperwork.
- Coordinate with the Transportation team to complete pre-load trailer inspections and manage pre-cooling of trailers according to temperature zone specifications prior to loading.
- Identify and resolve loading issues.
- Print end-of-day packing slips and perform reconciliation to validate successful order fulfillment.
- Track the status of inbound purchase orders, schedule deliveries, distribute daily schedules, and track inbound trucks.
- Work with internal and external parties to gather information for overage, shortage, or damaged (OS&D) items; disseminate OS&D information to stakeholders and track resolution.
- Ensure an organized work area and easy retrieval of documents, including BOLs, OS&D records, and other inbound documentation.
- Maintain and provide timely, accurate information for stakeholders, including purchasing, vendors, security, and leadership, using MS Excel and WMS apps.
- Monitor and manage receiving email, including replying to appointment requests, communicating with late carriers, and notifying the planning team of unscheduled appointments.
- Monitor Armada communication and provide edits or corrections as needed.
- Contribute to all inbound and outbound activities as needed.
Training
- Develop, refine, deliver, and manage all new hire classroom and hands-on training for the Warehouse, including progress checks and certification within the first 90 days.
- Develop, refine, deliver, and manage new hire Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training and certification, as well as recertification for experienced team members.
- Develop, refine, deliver, and manage cross-training for all Warehouse roles.
- Maintain the Warehouse Skills Matrix to ensure accurate records of team capabilities and versatility.
- Identify and drive best practices to increase training program effectiveness.
- Partner with Supervisors to identify process opportunities for experienced team members to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with Supervisors to roll out and train new processes and initiatives.
- Recertify experienced team members on systems, equipment, functions, safety, and procedures.
- Participate in the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Instructions for consistency, efficiency, and safety.
- Ensure all training documents, materials, and processes adhere to company SOPs and policies.
- Assist in developing, documenting, and delivering safety programs and initiatives.
- Participate in Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and other process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to all outbound activities as needed, including picking, replenishment, and loading.
Requirements
- 2+ years of warehouse experience.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Exemplary performance and safety record.
- Certified on pallet rider, counterbalance, and hi-reach (cherry picker preferred).
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight; high degree of initiative and urgency.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
- Thorough understanding of inbound and outbound operational priorities, dependencies, and processes.
- Ability to build effective relationships at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solutions-oriented, proactive problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in distribution.
- Experience leading training, facilitating meetings, managing operations, and resolving exceptions.
Travel requirements: 5%. Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred education: Associate's Degree.
