Warehouse Forklift Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

Cumberland Dairy has immediate job openings for fast paced and motivated Warehouse Forklift Operators to perform any combination of operating forklift, picking, pulling, and building orders, palletizing products, loading, unloading, and staging upcoming outbound orders, and effectively maintain product storage and rotation. Additionally, Warehouse Forklift Operators are responsible for handling finish product in a safe and efficient manner while communicating effectively with team members as well as following GMP and SOP rules and regulations.

Cumberland Dairy is a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a dairy marketing cooperative owned by more than 12,500 family farmers. DFA manufactures a variety of dairy products, including cheese, butter, fluid milk, ice cream, dairy ingredients and more, under well-known and established regional brands. At Cumberland Dairy, we produce millions of gallons of ultra-pasteurized, refrigerated, extended shelf-life products annually.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in a high-efficiency environment
• Pick, pull, and build orders
• Palletize products
• Load, unload, and stage upcoming outbound orders
• Maintain product storage and rotation
• Handle finished product in a safe and efficient manner
• Communicate effectively with team members
• Follow GMP and SOP rules and regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum six months experience operating a forklift in a high efficiency environment
• Forklift operator's certification required
• Must pass a written and driving forklift skills test
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach and bend virtually the entire shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with capabilities to lift up to 80 pounds, and assist others when lifting is necessary
• Must be able to work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
• May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $20 per hour

Schedule

Five days a week, Sunday through Thursday (8-hour shift). Third Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
