About the role
South Shore Generator Sales & Service is a leading generator sales, service, and installation company based in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We are currently expanding and seek a Warehouse & Fleet Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments.
- Organize warehouse inventory and maintain accurate storage locations.
- Stage generators, transfer switches, accessories, and installation materials for upcoming projects.
- Verify all equipment and materials are complete and ready before deliveries.
- Load company vehicles for daily service and installation operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse and yard.
- Maintain and coordinate equipment movement between warehouse locations, vendors, storage yards, and customer sites.
- Protect equipment from damage during handling, storage, and transportation.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and service for company vehicles, trailers, forklifts, and equipment.
- Monitor maintenance schedules and maintain fleet records.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and communicate maintenance needs.
- Operate company rollback trucks as needed.
- Safely transport generators and related equipment.
- Properly secure all loads using DOT-approved cargo securement practices.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Assist technicians with generator fuel sampling.
- Prepare, package, and coordinate shipment of fuel samples.
- Maintain fuel sample documentation and supplies.
- Monitor used oil and antifreeze storage.
- Congnorate recycling pickups with approved vendors.
- Transport scrap metal and recyclable materials.
- Work closely with the Service Operations Manager, Sales Lead, and Company Owners to ensure:
- Equipment is staged and available for upcoming projects.
- Fleet vehicles are maintained and ready for service.
- Warehouse operations remain organized and efficient.
- Operational improvements are identified and implemented.
- Departments receive the support they need to serve customers successfully.
- Aid with special projects and help improve the overall efficiency of our operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Massachusetts 2A/1C Hoisting License.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- OSHA 10 Certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
- Forklift experience.
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing 10–50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and rollback trucks.
- Preferred: Warehouse or logistics experience, heavy equipment or generator experience, rollback or flatbed truck operation, fleet maintenance coordination, DOT cargo securement knowledge, inventory management experience.
