About the role

The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to join the Fleet Maintenance department. This position oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the parts and cart warehouse, including receiving, storing, issuing, and managing inventory. The coordinator also coordinates the fuel depot, ensuring smooth operation and compliance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations and activities of the parts warehouse, including receipt, storage, and issuance of various parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Obtain competitive quotes for inventory items in accordance with established purchasing procedures.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, efficient, and organized manner.
  • Manage daily activities at the fuel depot, including monitoring automated fuel systems, scheduling preventive maintenance, and assisting with site cleanliness.
  • Oversee and verify the stock, invoice, and delivery of supplies, services, and equipment.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives.
  • Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.

Requirements

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible warehousing, supply, or purchasing work. Training equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training or college coursework in purchasing, warehousing, business administration, marketing, or a related field.

Licenses/Certifications: Required possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability. Forklift certification; Basic Principles of Local Government Purchasing certification; Inventory Control certification; Warehouse Principles certification; Computer certification preferred.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training or college coursework in purchasing, warehousing, business administration, marketing, or a related field.

Skills

Knowledge of local government purchasing procedures, inventory control, and warehouse principles. Proficiency in computer applications and software, including inventory control and financial software. Ability to operate forklifts and fuel management software. Strong organizational and communication skills.
