Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the development and execution of the department's training plan and cross-training initiatives.
- Ensure that quality checks and paperwork are completed before products leave the department.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Participate in 5S improvements, Visual Factory Improvements, and reduce changeover/setup times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including open aisles and good housekeeping.
- Identify and address critical issues in the value stream with the operations management team.
- Communicate daily updates on relevant information to Value Stream Leaders.
- Inform maintenance about work orders through MMS and coordinate maintenance activities according to departmental needs.
- Ensure the timely and safe production of scheduled deliverables by managing resources effectively.
- Assist the Value Stream Leader with employee activities, including evaluations, disciplinary actions, and corrective action requests.
- Identify and correct unsafe acts or conditions, both within the department and throughout the plant.
- Assist employees in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Participate in Gemba walks and prepare LDMS boards as needed.
- Create and update standard work instructions.
- Occasionally assist in the department to maintain workflow continuity.
- Act as a certified First Responder when trained.
- Adhere to ISO-9000 system procedures and ensure compliance.
- Model positive team engagement and morale within the organization.
- Live and behave according to TCF Core Values.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies, procedures, work instructions, and standards
- Effective verbal communication skills with coworkers
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Confidentiality of employee information
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Continuous lifting/moving of 25 pounds; occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and pulling up to 100 pounds with wheels (pallet jack)
- Continuous standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms above shoulder height, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat
- Occasional exposure to high places, fumes or airborne particles, and/or caustic chemicals
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
