Warehouse Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the supervisor to coach and motivate a team on day-to-day shipping, picking, receiving, or inventory control activities within the distribution center.
• Work with the supervisor to ensure team members are fully trained to perform their assigned duties using “preferred methods” and complete/request additional training or cross training as needed.
• Help the supervisor ensure that all daily requirements are being met and any projects/processes meet deadlines.
• Effectively communicate progress against daily volume and help the supervisor assign work and adjust manpower throughout the shift to ensure store orders are processed in a timely manner and work hours are optimized.
• Provide on-the-job training and procedural audits/behavioral observations for team members as needed.
• Partner with Support Coordinators to determine reasons for system inaccuracies as they occur and recommend methods to prevent future inventory issues.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies (wrong quantity, product and location).
• Perform duties of area distribution team member – recommended 25% of the shift.
• Assist with maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, good housekeeping practices, quality standards, OSHA and other government regulations.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates/Bachelor’s degree desired.
• Solid basic computer skills.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of distribution processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills plus the ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to provide confident communications at all levels.
• Strong leadership skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow team members.
• Ability to read and interpret a variety of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions with minimal instructions.
