About This Position

This is a full-time, onsite position responsible for operating the crane to support metal processing equipment, move, unload, load, and store materials in the warehouse while following all safety policies and procedures. This role ensures work flows through the shop at a steady and timely pace.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to assure safe, effective, and efficient work tasks.
  • Operate overhead crane to load or unload railcars, trailers, and customer’s vehicles.
  • Keep machine operators supplied with proper steel and pull/stage materials for the next shift.
  • Perform weekly and monthly assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform daily clean-up duties to maintain a safe work area.
  • Occasionally work other positions as backup for vacation or sick coverage.
  • Operate forklift or railcar mover occasionally.
  • Comply with general company attendance standards.

This role involves working in a warehouse setting with some daily exposure to weather conditions (cold, wet, hot). Continuous mental and/or visual attention is required to monitor production processes, attend to safety conditions, and operate required vehicles.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Warehouseman/Crane operator training or at least 12 months of prior experience.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
  • Reliable and punctual, ready to work on time daily.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and treat employees and customers with respect, courtesy, and tact.
  • Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions and record work activities.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience with overhead cranes, Bushman attachments, company computer applications, email, forklift, and railcar mover.
  • Ability to perform routine office support, understand written and oral instructions, and make mathematical calculations.

Pay

$19.25 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Swing Shift, Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM.
