Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe operation and control of the crane and loads being handled
- Report safety concerns in a timely manner
- Fill orders for steel
- Inspect crane and cab, complete inspection form
- Trained to read and understand the load charts for the cranes
Qualifications
- Must learn to inspect and safely operate all four Gunderson portal gantry cranes
- Follow radio commands explicitly
- Manual dexterity and good depth perception are a must
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively as a member of a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong worth ethic, flexible, reliable, and punctual
- 2 years minimum Clyde crane rigging experience
- Clyde crane operating experience
- Licensed to operate overhead/remote/rigger certifications preferred

Work Environment

- Exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving machinery and trip hazards
- Personal protective equipment such as head, eye, hearing, and foot protection are required
- Exposure to welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes
- Additional PPE may be required as determined by the environment
- Work overtime as required (varies, may require some weekend days)
- Workaround traffic and heavy manufacturing equipment
- Work at heights on scaffolding and ladders, in dim-lit areas, on slippery or uneven surfaces
- Exposure to heat, cold, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, toxic chemicals, and inclement weather conditions
- Work in confined space, move through manway and tank openings
- Safety Equipment Required: Hardhat, Eye protection, Hearing protection, Steel Toed Shoes
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $37 – $44 per hour.
