About the role
As a Warehouse Coordinator, you will play an important role in managing inbound and outbound loads and materials through our inventory tracking system (SAP), coordinating dock and yard space usage, and supporting warehouse operations at our Wayland, MI, facility, a manufacturer of high-quality non-dairy creamer.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in coordinating daily activities of workers engaged in receiving, shipping, loading, unloading, transporting, materials handling, order filling, and maintaining stock in a warehouse.
- Compares identifying information (e.g., counts, weights) of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, orders, or other records.
- Records and reports shortages, overages, and damages in shipments, and works with other departments to resolve any discrepancies as well as examines outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and shipping requirements.
- Maintains oversight of work levels on docks and within the warehouse to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Collaborates to coordinate the use of dock and yard space to optimize warehouse operations and ensure a smooth flow of goods.
- Supports hourly warehouse team members including training employees on proper procedures for safety, quality control, equipment usage, and productivity improvement.
Requirements
- One to three years of experience in logistics, supply chain or related fields, preferably within the food industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory management systems and/or SAP.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and suppliers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
Skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Inventory management systems and/or SAP knowledge.
- Forklift operation knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
