About the Role
Perform various warehouse and inventory related tasks in a cooler/refrigerated environment. Receive, process, store, move, and distribute items such as products, materials, ingredients, equipment, and supplies. Work within clearly defined processes and tasks while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload stacks, cases, pallets, and other items as assigned.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences (e.g., size, type, style, color, or product code).
- Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated areas.
- Maintain organization, stock rotation, and neatness of all coolers and warehouse spaces.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute them to production workers.
- Accurately pull and prepare customer orders for shipping and efficient loading onto trucks/trailers.
- Verify shipment accuracy by checking bills of lading and product condition before loading.
- Use a computer to scan or enter inventory data and maintain accurate records.
- Complete daily pick sheets, cycle counts, production take-backs, and assist with monthly and year-end inventory counts.
- Monitor materials, products, and equipment at each step of the process and report irregularities to a supervisor.
- Operate a forklift (including standing forklifts) to load/unload trucks and move inventory.
- Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place items in assembled units; apply identifying labels as needed.
- Follow all DFA GMPs and corporate/regulatory food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Report any quality issues to QA personnel.
- Optimize space utilization and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, background, and criminal checks.
- Ability to stand, walk, pull, push, reach, and bend for the entire shift.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting with heavier lifts; manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high.
- Ability to work in a wet environment and temperatures of 35-40°F.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- Minimum six months of experience operating a forklift in a high-efficiency environment.
- Minimum six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift and pallet jack operator’s certification required.
- Must pass a written and driving forklift skills test.
Pay
$25.47/hour
