About the role

Ryder is hiring Temp to Hire Warehouse Associates in Columbus, Ohio. The position offers weekly pay and a career focused on safety and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Pack, kit, and assemble orders and materials.
  • Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers.
  • Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
  • Help train dock employees on new procedures.
  • Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping.
  • Perform picking and packing duties.
  • Check for evidence of product or container damage.
  • Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in workgroup and other team activities.
  • Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of related warehouse experience.
  • Intermediate ability to operate powered industrial trucks (stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks).
  • Intermediate ability to operate manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line).

Qualifications

  • Intermediate ability to read, do basic mathematics, and understand safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to input data into the WMS computer system.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.

Skills

  • Intermediate ability to operate and maintain powered industrial trucks.
  • Intermediate ability to operate and maintain manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment.

Pay

  • $17.00 per hour.

Schedule

  • First Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
  • Weekends as needed for overtime.

  • Six months of related warehouse experience.
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse experience preferred.

  • Intermediate ability to operate manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line).
